AMBOSELI
Amboseli is the land of "pachyderm selfies" and awe-inspiring natural wonders. Situated in the south of Kenya, Amboseli National Park is where wildlife takes center stage and Mount Kilimanjaro photobombs your safari pictures (that's right, Africa's tallest peak loves a good cameo).
Amboseli means the place of salty dust in the Maasai language, probably because the volcanic ash spill from Kilimanjaro created the dust terrain seen in the park. But across this terrain are a whole range of landscapes, from the savannas and hills to wetlands, sulphur springs, open forests and even a pre-historic lake bed. It has one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Kenya and the region is the traditional homeland of the Maasai people.
