LAKE MBURO

Uganda’s smallest National Park, but still a lovely one. Only a few hours from Kampala it's a great overnight stop on the way to the lakes, gorillas and epic savannas in the South West of the country. It is home to the largest population of zebras in Uganda and is the only park where you can find eland, impala and klipspringer.

At the centre of the park is Lake Mburo, which together with 14 other lakes in the area, forms part of the wetland system. There are both seasonally flooded and permanent swamps which give rise to an incredible variety of wetland birds.

Horse riding safaris are also available here - a Nomad favourite experience!
